Ex Machina

Browsing through Amazon Prime I found this film, which I have been wanting to see for some time.

There is not much to write about this really, apart that it is a brillo film that blows away all of those overblown Hollywood films by telling an uncomplicated, yet thought-provoking and intriguing story.

The special effects of Ava were quite impressive, very well done for a film made on a budget of $15 million.

And I didn’t recognise Domhnall Gleeson until looking this up on Wikipedia, he was great in The Revenant, and he was also in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Parts 1 and 2 (Bill Weasley), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (General Hux), and Dredd. His father is Brendan Gleeson. Also in this was Oscar Isaac who played Poe in The Force Awakens, didn’t recognise him either.

Alicia Vikander, who played Ava, was in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and is playing Lara Croft in an upcoming Tomb Raider film (filming started in January this year).

Excellent stuff.
