Wicked as They Come, or Portrait In Smoke as it is called in the U.S., is a 1956 British film about a poor woman who uses men for their money then spits as them out as she makes her way to fortune.
The story starts in New York where the woman uses her charms to get vote counters to help her win a beauty contest. It then moves to Britain where she continues her campaign to get revenge on men, and make money on the way, but things start going wrong when one of the men she used gets a bit unhinged.
Apart from Sid James I did not recognise any of the actors. The actress playing the main character is Arlene Dahl, mother of Lorenzo Lamas. A British actor by the name of Herbert Marshall lost a leg in World War I and used a prosthetic leg to walk, but you wouldn’t have known.
Entertaining overall, but nothing special.
