Captain America: Civil War

Last night I went to a DVD rental place and got five films out, holiday entertainment. So, James and I watched this one this afternoon.

For the first hour or so I was confused because I had no idea what was going on, mostly because I couldn’t remember what had happened in all of the other Marvel films, however it all started making sense as the film went on. It wasn’t until Antman appeared though that we got some lighter moments, as it was heavy going until that point.

There was plenty of action of course, and lots of nice CG, and battle scenes that dragged on and on as they do, usually with no real outcome. The big battle scene between the two Avengers factions was a hoot.

Despite being two and a half hours long, it didn’t get boring so it was entertaining enough. It could have done with a much more dastardly villain though, the one in this film was just a normal dude with a beef, he didn’t even have an evil mask or anything.

Another DVD I got was Batman vs Superman, not really expecting much from it. But, tonight I will be watching The Hateful Eight, that should be good.

Date watched: December 24th
Score: 7.5/10
Film count 2016: 201
