Basically, this film is about a prisoner who escapes from prison, and along the way gets his hands on what he thinks is a canister of heroin worth a million bucks, but is in fact cobalt 60 “the most dangerous substance in the world”. The cops have to track him down somewhere in L.A. before he opens the cannister, and dooms the whole city.
Like He Walked by Night, this was a police procedural film, but unlike said film it just wasn’t very exciting or fun to watch. The acting was very average, and the story plodded along with only the occasional thrill. The cinematography was nothing great. It was interesting though to see 1959 Los Angeles.
This was not a terrible film, but it could have been a lot better if it had more thrills, some snappy dialogue, and a better police force (many of the cops in this looked to be well over 50!).
