N.W.A.: The World’s Most Dangerous Group

I got a bunch of DVDs out the other day including Straight Outta Compton, and on the shelf right beside it was this documentary, so I thought what the heck.

This looks at the history of N.W.A., but mostly focusses on Eazy E, the founder of the band, and a genius if you believe all of the peeps interviewed in this, including his group-mates, Ice T, his wife, his bodyguard bud, record producer, and several others. He made many enemies on the way, including his own group-mates, but he seemed to be quite sharp and a very hard working chap.

The production was a little on the cheap side, but it was done reasonably well, although there were some terrible spelling mistakes throughout. There was lots of footage and archival photos, but throughout the whole thing there was only one little N.W.A. song played. I had to go to YouTube afterwards to see what their music was like as I have never really heard their stuff.

Now that I know some of their history, I can now watch Straight Outta Compton and see how accurate, or inaccurate it is.

Date watched: October 12th
