This is another film that I last saw before this blog started, so I re-watched it last night.
And despite not seeing this for at least eight years I remembered most of it, although I got the whodunnit part of it wrong.
It was entertaining, but I found the two hour running time a bit long, I was quite sleepy when it finished (it was after midnight). The acting was fine, and the self-parody and parody of horror films in general was funny.
After watching Ash vs Evil Dead this week though I found the horror part of this to be very tame, but that does not matter. Ash vs Evil Dead is brilliant by the way!
There have not been any slasher films like this since, so the Scream series is a worthy watch, and one might argue it is Wes Craven’s best work (Freddy was not bad, but could have been better), it is certainly the most polished.
Date watched: August 26th (and 27th)
Film count 2016: 137
