Minions

Hana and I watched this today.

Some of the reviews I read about this didn’t think much of it, but the reviewers seem to forget that this is a film made for kids. I thought it was not bad, there were a few laughs here and there.

Kids all around the world obviously liked it as this is the second highest-grossing animated film of all time, behind Frozen, and 11th overall. It made over a billion bucks!

There were a lot of references in the film that kids would not get, such as The Beatles walking over Abbey Road, Campbell’s Soup, Nixon, and the filming of the fake moon landing. There was also plenty of good late 1960’s sounds from the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Donovan, the Rolling Stones, and a cover by the Minions of “Hey Hey We’re The Monkees”.

Date watched: March 31
Score: 7.5/10
Film count 2016: 61
