As I said in my previous post, I went to ye olde DVD rental place and got four DVDs. One of them was this film, which I have been meaning to re-watch for quite some time. So I plopped it in the DVD player thing and after about five minutes it started to freeze, chop, and get those pixel artefacts all over the place, even though the disc had no major scratches. So, I connected my Nexus 7 tablet to Chromecast and watched it using Hulu Plus. Probably should have done that in the first place.
This is just as much a hoot now as it was the first time I saw it, probably even more so now that I appreciate blues a bit more. It was a great who’s who of musicians, as well as eighties actors. There were also some good laughs, some quite absurd.
The Wikipedia entry for this is a good read. There was a lot of cocaine on the set apparently, and some of the budget was used especially for snorting. John Belushi was especially out of control.
One-hundred and three cars were destroyed in this film, but the record for the most cars destroyed now belongs to frikkin’ Transformers 3.
