I saw this several years ago, but with David Bowie passing away this year I decided to revisit it again.
This is basically just a recording of the last ever Ziggy concert in London in 1973. There is some dressing room footage but not of much interest.
The live footage is good, David was certainly quite the showman and totally into his thing. But a few songs were a bit flat, and the guitarist sometimes dragged the squiggly-wiggly guitar solos on for too long, although this was to give David time to go back to the dressing room and change costume. Squiggly-wiggly guitar solos just don’t do it for me, but Jimi did them well.
On my list of gigs to visit using a time machine are The Ramones, Elvis (his white jumpsuit era, preferably in Las Vegas), The Cramps, and The Who…to name a few. I have seen live footage of The Ramones, absoloutely brillo stuff, they were quite the band.
Anyway, this is not essential watching, but it was good enough.
