Yet more CDs
The Jimmy Rogers All-Stars: Blues Blues Blues – Jimmy, who use to play in Muddy Waters band, died before this was released in 1997, it features Jimmy with a bunch of other people, The Jagger, Keef and Eric Clapton mainly. It’s pretty good.
Monsoon Wedding OST: Top soundtrack to a top film.
DJ Kicks: Nightmares on Wax – Nightmares on Wax (or George if you’re his Mum) has been around a while, this is a DJ mix album, with a bunch artists I’ve not really heard of. Lots of beats. Nice background music. Bit dated.
Feist: Let It Die – Top pop tunes on this, all very catchy.
Organs in Orbit: Ultra Lounge 11 – 50s organ stuff, I have a few of these Ultra Lounge compliations, I hardly listen to them I must say.
Essential Selection Vol 1: More electronical dance stuff, a little unlistenable this one. Does have the brill Born Slippy by Underworld on it though. But it’s got some horrible remix over it…
Lust for Life: Triple J double live CD with Blur, Tanya Donelly, The Avalanches and Supergrass to name the best ones on here.
Alfred Schnittke: Concerto Grosso I / Concerto for Oboe and Harp / Concerto for Piano and Strings – Long title for a classical record.
See You In The Charts!: Cheerio For West Heath Yard – This is a free sampler I got when I purchased some Edwyn Collins CDs, the artists on the compilation are all on Edwyn’s record label, Vic Godard & The Subway Sect is the pick of the bunch.
