The Ides of March

This is a political drama about a governer going for president in the U.S. Kind of a boring topic for a film, but it was actually pretty good.

It was mostly good because of Ryan Gosling’s intense performance, he is the master of portraying unhinged, or in this case brilliant but slightly unhinged characters. The Clooney was also in this, and he directed too. Ryan though stole the show from the Clooney.

The first two-thirds of the film was pretty standard and teetering towards boredom, but the final act picked up and was great stuff to watch. The end scene was great.

Good stuff.
