This is a pretty good film about a boy and his quest to interview the guitarist of a rock band for Rolling Stone magazine.
It is set in the 70’s so is all cool and groovy, and has lots of 70’s fashions and designs happening. And of course it has 70’s music and we almost get to see David Bowie, Black Sabbath, and others (but don’t).
It has a good cast but the stand-out performance is by Francis McDormand, no surprise there. She was fabs as an over-bearing but well meaning mother who scares people with her wit, wisdom, and threats. There were several funny scenes with her.
Everything else was good though, although it was a little formulaic at times.
Good stuff, man.
