Kosheen: Resist – This is pretty terrible. Kind of like that band Lamb. But this is Mutton.
Pulp Fusion: Return to the Tough Side – A compilation this, starts with an excellent Herbie Hancock track, he’s the only dude I know on this but all the tracks have sufficient funk to make it ace.
Tim Koch: Shorts in Alaska – Electronical noodling. And tasty it is too. Ho!
The Doves: Last Broadcast – So this has There Goes the Fear on it, not their other record (see previous CD post), so that’s an ace song of course. And there are some other good ones on here actually.
Golden Smog: Down by the Old Mainstream – So this band is made up (at various times) members of Soul Asylum, The Replacements, Wilco, The Jayhawks, Run Westy Run, The Honeydogs and Big Star. Crikey! This is their debut album, kind of alternative country rock. Pretty good.
Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks: Wig Out at Jagbags – More top stuff from Steve and the Jicks.
Bill Callahan: Dream River – This is great! Bill has been my new fav for a while now, from his old band Smog to his solo stuff, there is a 1970s inspired dub version of this record, have to track that down.
The Temper Trap: Self titled second album, and not as good as the most excellent first unfortunately.
Karen O: A collection of homemade demo-ish tunes from Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Nice packaging with some nice illustrations. Only listened to the songs once to be honest. A bit too unfinished for my liking.
Joan As Police Woman: This is good to do work to, so nothing brilliant but pleasant enough.
Tone Loc: Loc’ed After Dark – Excellent op-shop find!
