K-19: The Widowmaker

This is the kind of film that Dad would enjoy, I may watch it again with him when he comes over.

Based on a true story about a brand new Soviet nuclear submarine that is rushed into service so the Russians can show the Americans they have big submarines too. The story was about a leak in the nuclear reactor, and how they fixed it.

It was actually quite good to watch. Harrison Ford played the hard-arsed captain, and Liam Neeson the second in command, and both of them were great. Liam Neeson is one tall guy, he towers over poor ol’ Harrison, and there was even a joke in the film about Liam’s character’s height.

Standard stuff, but still thoroughly watchable.
