This is a most depressing yet absolutely fantastic film, that only the British could make really.

It is basically a story about anger and the consequences of abuse, and other hard to watch things.

But, the supremo performances from every single actor or actress, the almost soppy-free storyline, and the realism make it all very worthwhile.

It is set in Leeds, a place I know nothing about, but parts of it seem to be very down-trodden and rather bleak, so that fit the story.

As I said, it was almost soppy-free. The soppiness only came from one rather uplifting song which seemed way out of place, in any part of the film. But I won’t let that affect my final score.

Date watched: September 3rd
