Terms of Endearment

This is a film I always thought was too flowery and over-dramatic to watch so I was never interested. But in the John Lithgow audiobook I finished recently he said after filming he felt his performance was terrible (which it wasn’t) and that the film wouldn’t do well. So I was curious and just finished watching it after a couple of sessions.

And it was actually well worth watching. The story is nothing new but what made this so good was the performances by Jack Nicholson, Shirley MacLaine, Debra Winger, Jeff Daniels and John of course. Jack and Shirley were great in particular. Without these actors this would have been nothing at all.

Date watched: August 21st
Score: 8.5/10
